Learn to Spindle Spin @ Grey Heron

Spinning Daily best discribes " Spindle Spinning"
Learning how to spin is learning the process of drawing out the fibers and adding twist until you have created a continuous thread of stable yarn. Starting out on a hand spindle is a great way to master the craft with a minimum of expense and equipment. Drop spindles are ancient tools that were a necessity in ancient times and are still used in many parts of the world to produce thread and yarn. If you're thinking about picking up a spindle for the first time, you may not know the difference in spindle whorls and why they matter.
Learn the drop spinning process from expert spinners and take pride into creating your very own handspun yarn.

So, after reading this - Who would like to learn?
No previous experience required!!

Jean Thomas has graciously offered to teach us to spin yarn
using your very own Drop Spindle.

We will make a spindle, practice with fibre
and gain a new appreciation for creating.

Question #1 - Are you interested in taking this class?
Question # 2 - Here's the timing - Tuesday daytime  or Saturday morning
Question # 3 - Cost =$25.00 plus materials
2 hours of instruction - includes - Drop spindle, fibre and instruction

Contact the shop for more details.  705-444-0370
