Now, my creative hat was on this week...

Image
I've had this fascination with cable bands on hats- I guess it's the Irish in me emerging... I have really had such fun... two designs- one ready for your Valentine's Day gift of XX OO cable band and the other a simple cable repeat band... Here's the cable band with the pin wheel decrease crown. Here's the XXOO cable band with my favorite derease crown I call raglan decrease. Both hats were knit with Cabin Fever Northern Lights. http://cabinfever.ca One ball each which makes this hat very cost effective Now that the power is back on in Collingwood, I will work on publishing the patterns to up load to Ravelry. You will be able to fine them there...

Pinwheel scarf... what a beauty

From time to time customer's drop by to check out our yarns for their latest weaving project. Yes, weaving project... This little beauty was woven using Ultra Alpaca Fine with a pinwheel design and twisted fringe edging. I can't wait to see it. It would be delightfully light, warm and very soft.... Once again, a designer's touch, great yarn, perfect pattern and the rest is history they say... Well done Cheryl!!

It's not a Santa sack...

My Briggs & Little order arrived this morning... hum... this should be enough to keep us in knitting for a while... The handpainted Softspun yarns are back in stock along with a smattering of gorgeous colours in heritage, atlantic, regal and softspun... toss in a few patterns, cakes of roving and TADA... this is what it looks like :) P.S. Mister postman also brought my Brown Sheep yarn binder... I feel a Lamb's Pride order in the wind... which by the way- winter's back on the bay ...

Thrum hat develops

Image
Well, my thrum hat pattern design is well under way. I'm ready for my thrums.. all 200 of them.. You can see that my yarn is Cabin Fever's Cottage Colours... I left the B&L red for the knitting group to knit... Now, what colour of thrums shall I use? The off white would look great... and so my hat moves ahead... to be finished before our thrum class...
